In 2025, amendments to the Criminal Code and the Administrative Procedure Act came into force, with the purpose of dealing with the increased exposure of public employees to threats and violence. This contribution examines the legal scope for eliminating risks of threats and violence in the workplace according to work environment regulations on threats and violence in the workplace, in light of the new legislation. The conclusion is that the scope for eliminating risks of violence is greater than for threats, and that the work environment regulations may limit the possibilities of realising the interest in safeguarding democracy expressed in the new criminal and administrative law regulations.
