Abstract

In the education sector – the empirical context of this paper – the welfare sector governance changes of the 1990s primarily manifested via the municipalization and the school choice reform. In practice, this means that there are a number of employing actors today, public and private. For the teachers, this means changed prerequisites and conditions in and for work. In this paper, we discuss teachers’ conditions for work as they relate to the current governance circumstances, using Sociology of professions, with a specific focus om the concept of differentiation, as well as drawing on labor geography.
