This article examines the perceived work environment of today’s teachers in relation to survey data from 1992 and 2012, which shows that teachers during this period experienced increased demands, reduced influence and support in their work. The same questions about work environment have now in 2018 been asked to teachers at eight schools. The result indicates a positive development compared with 2012, but also a significant difference between schools and between over- and underperforming schools. Explanations of observed differences between schools and over time are discussed based on school-specific conditions.
