Abstract
As an academic at most universities part of one’s time is spent teaching students. This means one must juggle the two identities of being both a researcher and a teacher. The aim of this paper is to get a better insight into such a subject, and highlight possible advantages and disadvantages with different methods. This was done partly through a case study, where a questionnaire was sent out to academic staff at LTH, and through a literature study on the current research on the topic. The difficulties with being both a researcher and a teacher at the same time are also highlighted and discussed.
