Abstract

Describing and classifying reasons and symptoms of demotivation in lab-based teaching environments in higher education. Tackling these situations is especially relevant due to the high demands on both teacher and students due to time limitations, safety considerations and diversity of educational backgrounds. Applying teaching theories to provide tools to resolve the different levels of demotivation in students. Realizing that the issue is not decisive, but more emphasis is placed on providing the teaching faculty with tools to deal with demotivated students.
