Konsten att publicera sig vetenskapligt – del 1: att skriva uppsatsen

Abstract

I here describe the way a bird study should be presented in Ornis Svecica and encourage amateur ornithologists to submit their work for official publication. I explain why the formal scientific format is necessary and why it may appear boring to read. I argue for a simple, straightforward style of writing (write as you talk) in active voice and discuss in some detail how the sections of a scientific paper should be written. I also describe the different sections that a scientific paper should contain. Finally, I show examples of a table and a figure.
