This study explores how job demands and job resources influence care workers’ intentions to leave or stay in their work within elder care (care homes and home care) and disability services (personal assistance and group homes). The findings indicate that job demands are more extensive in elder care, while the differences in terms of job resources are smaller. There is a clear correlation between the extent of job demands and the propensity to consider leaving the job. Access to job resources has a certain protective effect, but the effect diminishes when staff experience strain in multiple areas.
