Abstract

For almost fifty years, there has been statutory employment protection in Sweden. Currently the Employment protection act (LAS) is facing the most
radical change since its inception. The article highlights these proposals (Ds 2021:17) and analyses whether they achieve the aspired goal of increased predictability. Attention is drawn to how lawyer’s work in connection with employment protection and the practical application of LAS. The way in which labour law is currently developed risks deteriorating the quality of the rules and leading to shifts in the division of roles in the labour market regulation system.
