Vad orden gör. Kommunikation av arbetsskador i Försäkringskassans akter
Keywords:
Swedish social insurance agency, annuity, work injury, communication, capitalAbstract
Previous research shows that the Swedish Social Insurance Agency’s (SIA) decisions on compensation are influenced by the insured person’s resources. These inequalities are partly due to deficiencies in the communication. This article examines SIA’s administration of the insurance for occupational injury, focusing on power relations in the communication. Through a qualitative text analysis, a random sample of 139 of SIA’s files in 2017–18 is examined. In the communication process, unequal power relations are reflected and reproduced. Lack of communication between the SIA, the treating physician and the insured person contributes in making the process dependent on the insured person’s access to capital.
