Abstract

The Norwegian welfare and labor market policy has as its focus to “get everyone at work”. Employers in ordinary companies are given a central role because ordinary work is seen both as a goal and as a method to get more people with disabilities at work. This article examines employers’ experiences and understandings of how they do the inclusive work, and how governance practices and institutional discourses (governance) influence this work. The results of this article shows how their experiences are put together across time and space, in the sense that they activate and reproduces specific management discourses, in this article a discourse of normalization. This article is bases on qualitative interviews with 12 employers in private and public companies in Norway.
