Abstract

The purpose of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of the management of sexual harassment from a leadership and organizational perspective in the context of the #metoo-movement. The ambition was to analyze published calls from three man-dominated organizations: Swedish Armed Forces (#givaktochbitihop), Police (#nödvärn) and Rescue Services (#larmetgår). The result of the analysis shows the presence of four different organizational cultures, characterized by macho structures, punishment strategies, a culture of silence and resistance. These cultural dimensions seems to affect leadership strategies when dealing with sexual harassment. The identified leadership strategies are described as either positive or negative at the individual and organizational level.
