Abstract

Employers’ legal responsibility for work environment and sustainable work can be found in many regulations of different types, as well as in judgments and decisions made by the Swedish Work Environment Authority. This does not facilitate transparency or understanding of the law. In this article, the intention is to analyze employer’s legal responsibility concerning workload in Swedish Work Environment law. We will also examine how problems with workload are perceived and handled at both male and female dominated workplaces within private and public sectors.
