Utvecklingen inom exponeringsbedömning av kemiska arbetsmiljörisker. Historiskt och framåtblickande

In Sweden, the cost of accidents and illness caused by work is estimated at an annual cost of SEK 164 billion. The Swedish Work Environment Authorities regulations on chemical health hazards is strict about use of chemicals and risk and how assessments shall be carried out. Available resources for exposure assessments of chemical substances are very limited. The difference between how risk assessments should be made according to the regulations and how it is practiced is large. One reason is that labour inspection not always require such documentation. Using exposure models is a cost-effective alternative. Driving power in that direction seems weak in Sweden compared to other countries in Europe.
