Teaching in higher education has forced to change a lot since the COVID-19 pandemic had significantly spread during the spring of 2020. New regulations of online teaching were introduced and teachers had to quickly adapt their courses. Using CEQ (course experience questionnaire) data from four different courses, we have investigated how the students experience of the courses has changed after the spring of 2020 compared to before. Among these four courses, we can see unaffected courses, improved courses and deteriorated courses. Three out of the four courses have a noticeable decrease in passing rate, while the fourth course has a new teacher, which can explain its increase in passing rate. Student surveys have shown that students are in general unhappy with the new from of assessment that comes with the online teaching, which can explain the large decrease in number of passing students.
