Abstract
LTH employs many undergraduate students as
teaching assistants. These students are not required to have any
pedagogical training prior to teaching. They are however offered
to attend an introductory evening where they are introduced to
some pedagogical concepts. This pilot study aims at
investigating if the students want pedagogical training and if
such training affects the education quality. Based on existing
literature it is not possible to say if the quality is increased by
training. A survey investigating the undergraduate teaching
assistants’ views on pedagogical training show that there is a
desire for pedagogical training but there is no difference in
teacher confidence with increased training. Nonetheless
students who attended introduction reported that it had
changed them in their teaching
