Abstract

The dramatic work of Matéi Vișniec, centred on time, memory, and commitment, constitutes a privileged object of analysis for interrogating the modalities of a politically invested writing. This article examines the dramaturgical strategies through which the author confers an ethical dimension to his theatre. The analysis is structured according to three main axes: the representation of historical and traumatic memory, the denunciation of mechanisms of alienation and passive complicity, and the use of allegory and the grotesque as means to question the human condition. Through a varied corpus, the aim is to demonstrate how Vișniec transforms the stage into a space of resistance against oblivion and indifference, appealing to the spectator's responsibility.
