Abstract
In his article ,”Oral performances in a (post-)literate society”, Giuseppe Sanfratello takes on to a discussion about oral and written form, when it comes to music and song. Taking his starting points in two musical traditions (from Crete, the so called "mandhinàdhes", and byzantic liturgical songs), Sanfratello examines oral performances of music and song, also in contemporary times).
