Improving student learning through study visits
Abstract
‘Don’t believe everything you read and seeing is believing’ are adages that are common in our day to day use of the English language, hence one can not shy away from their authenticity. It’s our believe that deep learning can be enhanced if the student come close to ‘reality’ of what he or she is studying. Forms of learning such as practicals, laboratory work, experimental work have the following goals: facilitation of deep learning, introduction to a scientific world, motivating students and improvement of technical skills (Igor et al., 2001), but all these will not be fulfilled if the students do not believe in what they are learning - a study visit does just that.Downloads
