Abstract

Doctoral work requires an enormous effort on the student’s part and the supervisor’s role is pivotal for a successful completion of the same. Thus, the overall relationship between the supervisor and their students is essential during these 4 years of research and may affect the comprehensive output. The goal of this study was to investigate the dynamics of this relationship by evaluating the overall personality of the pair using the big 5 personality test and comparing it to the perceived quality of the relationship as per student perception.
