Information For Authors
Interested in submitting to the NJEL?
We frequently publish call for papers. However, we do welcome spontaneous submissions at any time.
Formal requirements
The author(s) should submit all manuscripts in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
The word limit on submitted papers is 15000 words for articles and 8000 words for case notes. All contributions should have an abstract (150-200 words) and a list of references.
All submission should be written in full accordance with the Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA). Failure to do so will result in the submission being rejected.
The Review Process
All the contributions are peer-reviewed before acceptance to the Journal. The NJEL uses a double-blind peer review process, meaning that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers and vice-versa.
The process is divided into several steps.
- During the first stage, the submissions is reviewed by the Editorial Board in order to assure that the topic is in line with the standards of the Journal and that the requirements are met.
- During the second stage the submission undergoes a double-blind peer review by an anonymous expert in the field of research.
- If the submission is accepted or conditionally accepted it undergoes a language review.
- The author receives the submission with the relevant comments together with a time-frame for re-submitting it.
