Teaching Students With Different Backgrounds
Abstract
In elementary and secondary education in Sweden one can usually assume that most students havesimilar basic knowledge and know what is required of them. Students who have Swedish as second
language or have recently moved to Sweden are assisted in getting into the system. When it comes
to tertiary education, however, the situation is quite different. Not only is the number of international
students ever increasing [1], but it is not uncommon that students from different levels and different
departments take the same courses.
