Abstract

An increase in student activity is the goal of various pedagogic approaches. A case study
of a seminar in a program with an under representation of female students poses the
problem in this paper. The paper describes how changes in the pedagogic approach lead
to an increased student activity, but also to a male takeover. Different pedagogic
measures are presented and discussed, with which to alter or prevent such male takeover
and still keep a high level of student activity.
