Abstract

Soft skills are often hard to dene but their lack can be felt as newly graduated engineers enter into the job market. Dedicated courses have been implemented previously but have received push back and been ill received by students. Recent years have seen the rise of integrated soft skills education into technical classroom settings through how we teach, assess, encourage self learning, and partner with industry. Two case studies from the Water Resources Program were evaluated for their use of soft skills and a proposed list of guidelines was created to help the integration of soft skills training into LTH classes.
