Abstract

To improve the learning outcomes, different approaches to facilitate active learning in the existing course Numerical Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer are studied. In previous course evaluations, the course has been described by students as unstructured and equation heavy. To remedy this, actions like flipped classroom, use of an online tool to help the students to understand complex numerical concepts and learning-by-doing are discussed. Due to the ongoing pandemic resulting in all teaching being conducted online, some of these concepts were successfully introduced in the course already during the work with the report.
