Abstract

Due to the Covid-9 pandemic, the teaching and learning activities were abruptly forced to shift from on campus to online, this change has been challenging both for students and teachers. In this project, we have combined a literature review and a survey to investigate the influence of the pandemic on students' motivation and the teacher's role on harnessing students' motivation in online teaching in higher education. The survey results show that the majority of teachers are conscious about the importance of student's motivation and actively try to harness this motivation. Additionally, the Collaboration and Constructing meaning in the Turner and Paris' six Cs model were shown to be the most commonly used methods to improve student's motivation.
