Guest lecture -‐ Bridging Industry and Academics
Abstract
In this project we study the disparity between academics and industryknowledge. In particular we focus on the invited talks from industry, which although
being a small part of curriculum can have a huge impact for students. However, on
numerous occasions the efficacy of invited talks is abridged. To tackle this a more
student/invited lecturer oriented methodology for invited talks is proposed. The idea
is to inspire students by involving them in various stages of the invited talk. This
involvement would spark critical thinking and deep learning among students.
