In this project, we aim to investigate certain aspects of collaborative learning approach (working in groups) in higher education. In particular, we focus on studying the factors that affect the productivity of an individual within the group working on the common project. A survey has been conducted among university students and based on this study results and the academic literature research, the analysis with possible reasons is presented. We also
propose several guidelines and a possible course of action both for the students and the teacher to balance the workload and thus improve the overall quality of the learning experience.
