In the context of small classes of advanced students, there are special challenges and opportunities related to helping the students overcome their learning threshold and provide them with new tools, knowledge, and confidence to carry on. Here, we focus on the importance of devising good teaching and learning activities to probe the students current understanding and to help the teacher assess the different learning styles at hand. Ultimately, teaching small classes of advanced students is a fine balance between resources allocation, teachers teaching style, and of course student learning.
