Next-generation sequencing analysis in Medical Science

Abstract
I am currently involved in a practical bioinformatics course for Ph.D-students and post-docs at Lund Stem Cell Center and my idea for the Course developmental project is to expand on this and transform it into a course for the Master’s Programme in Biomedicine. This pose some exceptional pedagogical challenges (discussed below) and I therefore believe that, even if the suggested course has a computational/bioinformatical focus, the basic concepts interdisciplinary teaching will be of general interest. For a long-lasting learning, active or deep-learning has been proven superior to more traditional lecture based approached [1-3]. For the design of my course development project, I will therefore apply active learning [2] with a backwards design approach [4]. Hence, I will begin with the question “Where do I see the students in the future?”
