Focus and Scope
Nidaba is the newly established open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published digitally by the Centre for Middle Eastern Studies at Lund University. The journal is published bi-annually, in May and November, and features original multi-disciplinary articles related to the study of the Middle East (broadly defined). Reflecting the general mission of CMES, the journal aims to publish articles that are theoretically informed, methodologically sound and analytically innovative. Nidaba’s goal is to contribute to informed public debates and policy formulations related to the Middle East. The journal welcomes submissions with a broad perspective. Interdisciplinary submissions are strongly encouraged.
Peer Review Process
An official confirmation of receipt is usually sent within two weeks of submission. The confirmation will communicate whether the manuscript is accepted for review. Nidaba’s editor evaluates submitted manuscripts that follow the journal’s guidelines. Manuscripts that demonstrate potential for publication are then forwarded to at least two anonymous peer reviewers. Reviews are to be communicated to the authors within three months of submission. It is the aim of the editorial board to publish manuscripts within twelve months of submission.
Nidaba publishes articles on a rolling basis. After the review process has been completed, and an article has been accepted for publication, it will be instantaneously published and made accessible from within the current issue. Thus articles are added continuously to an issue, until the issue closes.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
