Abstract

The purpose is to identify gender differences in the allowance for work injury in gender-dominated work and disorders. The study was a register study of all applications for compensation 2010-2018. The results showed differences to women’s disadvantage in both steps of assessments, in both female- and male-dominated work and within the same diagnoses. Differences were partially manifested where there was larger discretion for administrators. Thus, the results makes a contribution to a more complex issue of norms and access to resources that still can matter in the insurance system for work injuries.
