As representatives of academia, we are subject experts - we should aim to master the skills of teaching as well. A Journal Club can be defined as an assembly of individuals who meet to discourse current medical literature. With a focus on active learning, the aim of this essay is to investigate possible ways to improve the way a Journal Club, as a part of an ”SK course”, can be undertaken. As examples, I suggest introducing CASP checklist, “brain-breaks,” and approaching a mindful way of teaching. In accordance with the SOLO taxonomy, learning outcomes associated with verbs have been expressed, facilitating active learning.
