Medicine (Perspectives on Course Design) 2021-12-17
Abstract
Background: The medical program at Lund university (LU) does not have a curriculum for and no undergraduate course in palliative care. There is a call for an undergraduate course in palliative care, to early implement a good overall understanding amongst medical students about the goals and possibilities with palliative care end-of-life.
Aim: To design an undergraduate course in palliative care for medical students at LU.
Method: Audit the course “Perspective of Course design” at LU HT21 and relevant literature about taxonomy and sample verbs, learning outcomes, assessment and legal aspect evolving university courses.
Results: A course in palliative care was designed
Conclusion: To be able to design a university course there is legal aspect to carefully consider. The taxonomy of the course must comply with the learning outcomes.
