Abstract

My main function at MedCUL (Center for Teaching and Learning at the Medical Faculty) is as the course organiser for the course Oral communication. During the course I teach a smaller group of students. The learning activities are mainly practical exercises and work with the students’ own presentations of their research. The aim of the course is that participants shall develop their ability to orally communicate and visualise research to different target groups, and in different contexts. Another aim is to inspire participants to explore different ways of orally presenting research in a safe learning climate (Lund University, 2020a).  As auscultation I chose to do an interview with the persons who developed the course to start with, thus helping me to deeper analyse the choice of content, goals and means of assessment. I have used the material from the auscultation to help me analyse the different aspects of the course Oral Communication, using Fink’s Integrated Course design (Fink, 2013).
