TBL, team-based learning, qualitative observation studyAbstract
Student empowerment and development towards autonomy in a constructivist approach (Mingfei & Jie, 2010) is facilitated by the nature of the learning activity which is designed to provide both conceptual and procedural knowledge to the students. In addition, augment the collaborative skills among the group members, allowing them to navigate through their different perspectives and how that can be used as asset in the teamwork. The activity is further designed to incorporate active learning from the part of the student, which in research (Freeman et al. 2014) has been shown to improve the performance of students.
In the way I have designed this study, at the end of this project, students should be able to achieve the following learning outcomes:
- Design a qualitative observations study
- Design a relevant observation protocol based on research phenomenon under study
- Collect data by means of observations.
