Abstract

Skills in academic reading, citation, and writing are essential capabilities and competencies to be developed during academic studies. These skills are examined in the final stage of the educational program in the form of a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis. These skills also have central importance in the students’ future profession irrespective of specialty. In order to create a significant student-centered learning experience (1), clear goals, examination criteria and progression throughout the bachelor’s or master’s level are required for both students and teachers for assessment of skills. Such a rubric is generic and can, thus, be used in all programs across the faculty.
