Abstract

The title of this piece is tongue-in-cheek, since the process of developing Information Research has been almost totally free of 'trials and tribulations', from its inception as the electronic version of a departmental newsletter, to its present status as a fully peer-reviewed scholarly journal with a world-wide readership.
