Vem säger ni att jag är? Om Jesusdebattens teologiska sammanhang

Abstract

This article offers a short reflection on the theological conditions for the so-called «Jesus debate» in Svenska Dagbladet, in the winter 2003. The starting point of my reflection is the observation that the substantial theological argument — although present at the beginning of the debate — very soon faded away and instead was replaced with secondary questions such as the possibility or not of supernatural miracles. This was a regrettable development, as such a discussion is theologically quite unfruitful. Against this background I raise the question whether it wouldn’t be possible to refine the whole discussion, to lead a substantial, critical and constructive theological debate in spite of, or even thanks to, the differing viewpoints in questions regarding the status of the Bible, of metaphors, of miracles, etc.
