Abstract

The number of international PhD students is increasing at Lund University. They might
experience  some  problems  in  relation  to  social  and  cultural  aspects  and  the  way
information is accessed. This could also have consequences for their PhD dissertation
work.  This  study  aimed  at  giving  voice  to  some  international  PhD  students  to  get  a
glimpse of how they perceive their situation regarding the above aspects. Although the
interviewed PhD students seemed to be quite satisfied with their situation it is obvious
that more can be done in relation to how they are introduced to the University, Swedish
culture and practical matters.
